10U & 14U come home with trophies

10U Highlights: "The Rock Creek 10U's won the GSL June Classic championship this past weekend, with a perfect 4-0 record.  In the seeding games, RC beat the Viking Baseball Club 7-5 and the West Hill Vipers 12-2 to win their pool and advance to the Sunday semifinal.  In game one, they were led at the plate by Jake French who went 2-2 at the plate and Anthony Wagner who had a key 2-out 2-RBI base hit which proved to be the game winner.  Roderick Aldridge and Tyler Klemo each contributed to the win with triples.  Against the West Hills Vipers, RC was led by the combined pitching efforts of Tyler Jensen, Christopher Moore and Dylan Clementz, only allowing 3-hits on the game.  In Sunday's semi-final, RC pitchers Christopher Moore and Jake French combined to throw a no-hitter against Eastside Select in the 8-0 RC win.  In the Championship game RC beat the Diamond Jaxx Navy 9-4.  Dylan Clementz led the way on the mound going 4-innings while only giving up 1 hit and striking out 5 batters.  Chase Hoalst led the way at the plate for RC picking up 2-hits including a game changing 2-run double in the decisive 7-run 5th inning."

14U Highlights: 14u Rock Creek spent the weekend of June 2nd at the Legion of Boom tournament in Yakima. The eastern Washington heat went straight to the bats as the boys were on fire all weekend. Started off strong the first game with a resounding 17-0 win over Burlington Sox with every player recording at scoring at least one run. Next game was similar in that the team got ahead early and never relinquished the lead with a 13-1 win over Valley Baseball. Once again every player was hitting the ball hard with solid approaches at the plate. That ended the first day with a run differential of 30-1. The next day the boys played the other team to go 2-0 against Valley and Burlington, Power Baseball. It wasn't as much of a hitting clinic but thanks to Lane Maras' 4 RBI game they won 8-2.

Done with pool play, we ended up playing the same team in the championship game, Power Baseball. Once again Rock Creek broke it open early scoring six in the second inning. From there RC kept adding on nearly every inning, ending the game with a 12-4 mercy rule by scoring two in the 6th inning. With that victory the boys won the tournament with complete dominance, ending it with a 50-7 run differential.
