Doug signed with Lower Columbia College after attending University of Washington in the fall of 2010 after graduating from Kentlake High School. At Kentlake he pitched the State Championship game in 2008 as a sophomore. SPSL 1st team Pitcher (2009,2010), SPSL 1st team 1B (2010). During his time at LCC he was 1st team Pitcher (2012) and All-Academic (2012). He then signed at D2 school Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu where he was a pitcher and first basemen.
