The 13U team played in the Seattle Elite League Invite on 4/21-23. The team brought their bats to the first game winning 12-6 against the NW Tugs. In the first game of the wood bat tourney they totaled 9 hits with multiple hits from Nate Hoyer, Gavin Bailey, Max Zerbato, and Scott Wolgamot. Wolgamott also had 3 RBI's and Zerbato threw 3 scoreless innings to close the game and earn the win. In game 2, the RC boys brought their bats again breaking out in the 4th with a 6 runs to win 7-1 against Bellevue BBC in a rain shortened game. Scott Wolgamot had 2 more hits, and scored 2 runs. Dillon Strey drove in a pair of runs as well. Errorless defense, and outstanding pitching by Malakhi Wheaton for 5 innings was more than enough to seal the victory. Wheaton finished with 5 strikeouts against a single walk in his outing.

On Sunday, RC battled back and forth with Baden throughout the game. After giving up 3 runs in the top of the 6th to lose the lead, RC answered right back scoring 5 in the bottom half of the inning. The offense carried the load totaling 9 hits on the game and also swiping 6 bases. Payne Plaster and Nate Hoyer had 3 hits apiece including a huge 2 RBI double by Plaster in the bottom of the 6th to regain the lead. Nate Hoyer pitched final 4 frames to earn the Win.

Unfortunately, the 13's lost their steam in the quarterfinals and lost 15-1. In the first, Gavin Bailey reached on error and promptly stole 2nd base. Which was followed by a Nate Hoyer RBI triple to get RC what would be their only run. All in all it was a great weekend for the 13's going 3-1 and swinging the bats well all weekend.

RC had to get right back to work on Tuesday night in Elite League play beating the Zips 7-6. Lane Maras was 2 for 3 with a BB and a run and Gavin Bailey had a big 2 RBI single to tie the ballgame. Bailey also threw 4 innings striking out 6 without a single walk. Tyler McGowan was the hero with a walk-off single in the 8th!

13's next play on Saturday 5/6 in a DH against the Narrows at Ravensdale Park starting at 9am.
